That's not a wish we hear...but a feeling. We greet each other and leave each other, wish happy wishes to one another but sometimes it is just a reflex and holds no actual feeling behind it. Daily interactions can be so superficial yet we can hold much inside ourself.
Many of my health and wellness professionals or influencers ( So they are called today) have been leaving messages and salutations of "6 of my favorite things/experiences/lessons/successes in 2024. I thought maybe I should try to follow their lead, give my year an over haul.
So obviously, one of the accomplishments would be finding a home for Delcophit.
It seems like I have been on a search, forever for a place, & now I feel tons of pressure to perform and build it up. Thank you for your patience, I am trying.
The next thing I can think of is the traveling I have done, Cross country skiing in NY with mom, aunts and cousins. We were able to relax and enjoy the time together and watch some fo the Olympic high jump trials.
In the Spring we took a trip to Florida to watch the Phillies play in training. It was a road trip and an adventure. This Summer we had an amazing trip to North Carolina with a stop in Virginia to Colonial WIlliamsburg.
So I mentioned 5 things, and have been racking my brain for one more. And why would I "need" one more thing and are these really the most important things. My daughter is in her Junior year of college, my second daughter is thriving at Volleyball and my youngest, my son is thriving at hockey. I have had more alone time in the past year, reading more, resting more and learning how to heal my body. Sometimes the small things hold more meaning to us then the pictures we post or big trips we take.
And taking small steps to rest and recover is a concept that is still new to me. The healing of my body and mind is now a part of my wellness journey.
The practice of yoga has also been a small part of the past year. This is the exact opposite of my history in fitness. The faster, longer, heavier and high intensity style has been ingrained in my body and soul. So the pivit into the slower, shorter, lighter and low intensity has been a challenge that I will continue through 2025.
Now how about the grandiose resolution, a goal for 365 days. It is completely unrealistic, much less impossible to set a goal for long tern without some little stops and encouragement along the way. And as a personal trainer, coach and longer time fitness guru ( I like that better than influencer) the short term goals are much better. The monthly goal is where it is at, each month choose a new goal. But get some accountability. I have a Food for Thought Group, find a partner or just make a plan. I am here for you if you need help.
Oh and remember, since the new years day starts on a Wednesday...you have until Monday to start!! It's never too late to set a goal, but make sure you set yourself up for success!!!
